Responsibilities
- Maintain bulletin boards bulletin boards in the front entry and hallways, including updating for child and staff birthdays.
- Maintain break/kitchen area by ordering snack items as needed, cleaning and organizing supplies.
- Collect, purchase, and distribute weekly snack and supply orders.
- Collect, purchase and distribute monthly classroom supply orders and ordering supplies as needed for teacher resource closet.
- Introduce a new activity and professional development ideas as well as assisting director with any other needs for scheduled staff meetings.
- Order I/T lesson plans and accident report sheets when needed.
- Collect and start laundry every day.
- Write and distribute the Monday memo each week. Meet with director every Monday to discuss memo before writing it.
- Update staff contact information and student contact information as needed.
- Update Prime Kids Learning Center Parent Phone Directory and Staff Directory.
- Give Bathroom breaks at 10 and 2 each for staff.
- Fill in when staffing is low by helping with plan times, breaks, and classroom coverage as needed.
- Monitor outdoor temperatures and potential severe weather for playground safety.
- Monitor immunizations and keep updated for state inspections.
- Manage waitlist each month. Discuss potential students with director. Contact new students to tour facility.
- Maintain enrollment packets for I/T and Preschool. Update forms as needed.
Hours:
Our Center is open Monday – Friday 6:00am to 6:30pm
Our full-time associates will work around 40 hours per week
Qualifications
Any combination of education, training, and experience providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Knowledge
Must have knowledge about the operation of a learning center. Childcare experience is required, management experience is preferred.
Abilities
- Must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, all essential functions of the job.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proven track record of high performance and exceptional results.
- Able to lead and manage successfully.
- Skills in planning and organizing, able to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
- Typing speed of 45wpm, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Experience, Education, and Training
Must be able to demonstrate a solid work history as well as an interest in the industry, be self-motivated, and possess excellent customer service/people skills.
Must have:
- Bachelor’s or higher education degree with at least 60 clock hours of approved Utah Early Childhood Career Ladder courses in child development, social/emotional development, and the child care environment; or 60 clock hours of equivalent training as approved by the Department;
- at least 12 college credit hours of child development courses;
- currently valid national certification such as a Certified Childcare Professional (CCP) issued by the National Child Care Association, a Child Development Associate (CDA) issued by the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition, or other equivalent credential as approved by the Department;
- at least a Level 9 from the Utah Early Childhood Career Ladder system; or
- a National Administrator Credential (NAC) and at least 60 clock hours of approved Utah Early Childhood Career Ladder courses in child development, social/emotional development, and the child care environment; or 60 clock hours of equivalent training as approved by the Department.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to multitask between the computer, phone, and different projects. Must be able to stand for up to entire shift, and position requires bending, lifting, and reaching to both ground level and overhead. Lifts and carries children; pushes and pulls equipment, supplies, etc. up to 50 lbs.
Licensing/Certification
Must pass CCL background check and receive at least 2.5 hours of preservice training before beginning job duties. Must complete new director training offered by the Utah Department of Health Child Care Licensing within 60 working days of assuming director duties.
