Responsibilities

Responsibilities & Abilities

The Body Shop Estimator is responsible for providing accurate description and cost of physical damage to semi-trucks to various interested departments. The estimator must have a strong attention to detail and accuracy in estimating labor and parts required to facilitate repairs.

  • Examine exterior body and inner structures of semi-trucks for physical damage
  • Evaluate damaged components to estimate repair times for damaged components
  • Estimate cost of labor and parts to repair physical damage
  • Take and upload photos of overall vehicle and damaged components to imaging system
  • Generate complete repair estimates utilizing Adjustrite estimator software
  • Enter estimate information into AS-400 system for invoicing purposes
  • Evaluate damage and generate estimates from photos provided by outside sources
  • Communicate with parts distributors and dealerships for accurate part numbers and prices
  • Utilize available tools to locate trucks for inspection
  • Assist with other body shop tasks including, but not limited to opening repair orders, ordering, and receiving parts, and interacting with operators.

Experience, Education, and Training

  • Minimum of 5 + years Estimating preferred
  • Adjustrite software experience is preferred

 

Work Schedule

  • Monday – Friday 7:30am – 5pm
  • Afterhours/weekends as needed 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Any combination of education, training, and experience providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

Knowledge

Basic knowledge of the trucking/transportation industry preferred. Knowledge of repair techniques and principles required.

 

Abilities

Strong organizational, computer, written and verbal skills required. Accurate typing up to 40 WPM. 

 

Experience, Education, and Training

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University in a Business or related field is preferred; Experience with damage estimates and processes with industry accepted standards required; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

 

Physical Requirements

Candidate must be able to pass a job specific post-offer physical prior to beginning employment with Prime, Inc. Candidate must be able to lift and carry 20lbs and push and pull 45lbs.

 

Working Environment

Combination of indoor temperature regulated body shop office and outdoor environments are expected. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions is required.

 

Licensing/Certification

None required.

As a condition of employment, all PRIME employees must comply with PRIME’s OHSA safety training and any related company rules, protocols, and programs.  PRIME’s OSHA safety program and policies are designed to ensure the safety of all PRIME employees.  PRIME employees are at all times required to dutifully comply with any and all of PRIME’s OHSA safety requirements throughout the duration of their employ at PRIME. The failure of any employee to abide by the safety requirements stated in this paragraph may subject the employee to the appropriate disciplinary action, up to and including termination. 

 

Modified Task Requirements/Changed Circumstances

All Prime employees are required to fully and continuously satisfy his or her job description/required qualifications at all times.  In the event that the employee’s job description and responsibilities are modified due to changed circumstances that respect the employee’s responsibilities and/or related performance tasks, the employee will be notified by his or her supervisor of any such changes.  The employee should immediately contact Prime’s Human Resources Department in the event that any of changed responsibilities and/or tasks create an undue burden or make the safe and lawful performance of those tasks impracticable or otherwise too difficult to successfully perform.
